CAPTAIN LEE BORKOWSKI - Owner / Vice President & Operations Manager
Lee is a spirited 22-year USCG licensed Master with over 30 years hands-on experience operating motor and sailing vessels as large as 170 feet - pleasure & commercial. His friends know he started out as a sailor cruising on the Great Lakes out of the Chicago Yacht Club, and in his late teens got the opportunity to deliver a yacht to Ft. Lauderdale . Upon meeting the locals and the fantastic weather he decided he had a new home. Prior to owning ASAP Marine Documentation, Lee worked as an Executive Captain based out of Ft. Lauderdale for 16 years, managing a multi-ethnic crew. His experience includes USCG inspections for commercial vessels, US Customs clearances & Cruising Permits, Carving and Marking regulations, and he's THE "go-to" source if you are looking for the best local vendors for any marine service. Since our office is primarily women, Lee is our "rock" who brings love and support and practical jokes to us everyday. In their "spare time", Lee and Lisa enjoy driving their 1967 Oldsmobile 442 Cutlass Supreme muscle car to car shows & cruising the Bahamas and the Keys on their Sea Ray Sundancer. You may also find Lee working on his hobbies as a skilled modeler, yacht restorer, and classic car restorer. |

SHA FRAME - Documentation Specialist
-
Sha (pronounced “SHEA”) is a “Snow Bird” who hails from New York originally and since moving to Florida has enjoyed over 20 years in the Marine Industry. First co-owning a yacht maintenance & delivery company that traveled throughout the Bahamas, Caribbean & US Virgin Islands, in Cat Key (Bahamas) she made the leap to a private 68' Hatteras for 2 years, then transferred to an 86' Berger, where she traveled a final four month voyage through Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, Lake Erie, the St. Lawrence River and the Hudson River. After her voyage it was back to Florida where she became a landlubber once again, putting her hands-on experience to good use working as a yacht brokerage assistant. She found her niche in 1997 in the Marine Documentation field. ASAP is very fortunate to have her join our crew in 2006.
Still a water baby, Sha loves boating & is a certified P.A.D.I. diver. She enjoys cooking, reading, movies and spending time with family & friends. A lover of all critters, Sha has actively participated in dog rescues. She has adopted two dogs of her own, named “TY” and “MAGGIE” and also rescued her parrot from a tree just before Hurricane Katrina. En route to work everyday she'd pass a tree and say “hey baby bird” until one day the bird was on the ground; she picked up the bird and took her home. Two days later “Katrina” hit and the tree is no longer standing. The bird is aptly named “Baby Bird”. |

Laureen Rice - Documentation Specialist
When it comes to describing Laureen, the words “super organized, detail attentive and loyal without a question” are a few of her best attributes; don’t forget about being an awesome wife and mother! Her diverse background, including her experience in the automotive and insurance industries maintaining high profile client accounts cultivated her very fine attention to detail and customer service skills. Along the way south from New England to the Virgin Islands with her fiancé, a boat Captain and Engineer, she managed the reservation center and office of a very popular yacht charter company. She was the instrumental force for hundreds of “bare boat” yacht charters and the myriad of details that brings a group or family from various points throughout the world and ensures a flawless vacation experience. During that time she and her fiancé married and she has since been involved “knee deep” in the yachting industry. A short stint as Island Development and On Site Manager, with her husband for a private Bahamian Island project (where she managed more than this bio has room to describe) before returning to South Florida. She has since served two of Ft. Lauderdale’s finest Yacht Brokerage Houses. As life in the yachting industry continues to evolve and define itself, Laureen will continue to be at the forefront of Client needs and alleviate your concerns with a knowledgeable and exacting smile. |

Carlene Taylor - Administrative Assistant
Carlene grew up around boats in her native Rhode Island (Newport, Narragansett and Galilee) before moving South to Florida. She has been involved with the Marine Industry in Florida for over 25 years. Her initial marine experience was with office management in a company offering stabilizer and general hydraulic sales and service and then put in 12 years in the documentation field.
Carlene is a horse person at heart and has owned a number of these large four legged animals on which she successfully competed in barrel racing and taught children to ride. She seems to attract smaller furry animals as well. She also has a love for MG cars, having owned both an MGA and a Midget which finally expired a few years ago. Between jobs, she lived in England for a while and is familiar with the Italian Riviera area having spent some time in Rapallo. She enjoys cooking and has a fancy for Thai food.

CRYSTAL BORKOWSKI - Official Mascot / Office Greeter
Crystal was born on September 25, 1994 and delivered by Santa to Lisa and Lee Borkowski. Crystal is the most precious Maltese ever in history (okay, probably a biased opinion, but we don't think so). Her hobbies include boating, napping, overpowering her hundreds of squeaky toys, and begging for treats (of which she gets lots every day). When she's working she enjoys greeting customers that come to the office and boosting the morale of the other employees. When you get the chance to meet her you'll swear she thinks you are the most WONDERFUL person she's ever met in her whole life. And I bet she's right! |
